At least 8,000 people in need will have food this holiday season thanks to the help of several Carolina Panthers players.
Thomas Davis teamed up with The Second Harvest Food Bank and Harris Teeter volunteers to put together 2,000 Thanksgiving meal bags Tuesday.
“We understand the importance, we understand the need to end hunger. We know that there are a lot of families that are struggling right now and that could possibly go out with food and we just want to do our part in making sure that doesn’t happen,” Davis said.
Davis’ wife and fellow Carolina Panthers joined Davis in putting together the meals.
Each bag feeds a family of four. This is the sixth year Harris Teeter has hosted the event.
